Your First Km Sets the Tone

Your first kilometre at parkrun makes more difference than most runners realise. Start too fast and your legs fill with lactate earlier than planned… start too slow and you spend the entire run trying to claw it back.

Here’s today’s simple spark:

Run the first kilometre at your goal average pace, not your goal finish pace.

That tiny distinction prevents you from surging too early or drifting too far behind. Settle into rhythm, find your breathing, and let the run come to you.

Remember: today’s parkrun is about progression, not perfection.
Run smart, finish strong — you’ve got this. 💥
